What are we making in this on-demand cocktail class?
This class is all about Italian cocktails. Ian paired these drinks with an Italian feast for my most recent birthday, and they were so good I wanted to have a class where we made those exact cocktails. We also added the classic Aperol Spritz to the class, because everyone needs that in their arsenal.
Aperol Spritz
Basil Cocchi Spritz
Negroni
Margherita
L’ultima Notte
Who is teaching this on-demand cooking class?
This class is taught by Ian Young. He's been bartending for over twenty years. He currently works in the Denver tasting room for Spirit Hound Distillers. He also teaches cocktail classes there.
This is Ian’s second class with Lanyap Cookery. His first class was all about gin cocktails.
How is this on-demand cooking class structured?
In this class, Ian makes each cocktail from start to finish and then moves on to the next one. Make as few or as many as you like on any given day. Maybe you will watch the whole class through, and then go back to it when you are wanting to make one of these fabulous gin cocktails. Timestamps are included in the class PDF for each drink, so you can easily skip to where you need to be in the video depending on which drink you are making.
How long will this on-demand cooking class take?
The class video is 50 minutes long. The only prep is making a simple syrup and a balsamic vinegar simple syrup. But it’s most likely you will pick and choose which cocktails to make on any given day vs making them all at once.

Equipment
You will need a cocktail shaker set, which will include a jigger and a Hawthorn strainer. This is the one I have. Ian used a jigger with measurements on it, so you may want to pick up an extra one to be more precise. This one from Oxo has measurements on the inside.
You will also need a small fine mesh strainer for double straining.
